Three processes in one module: the onboarding, crossboarding and offboarding sub-modules of SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding are combined into a single digital and intuitive solution, but can also be used independently of each other.

 

Organise a smooth and effective onboarding process for new employees. The onboarding process includes all activities from pre-onboarding to the first day of work. The centrepiece is the digital recording of HR master data and additional onboarding-related information. You can also create programmes with standard or company-specific tasks. Here is a selection of standard tasks for managers and employees:

  • Write a welcome message
  • Assign a buddy to the new employee
  • Recommend people in the company to the new employee
  • Create a checklist
  • Schedule an onboarding meeting
  • Set targets for new employees
  • Prepare for the new employee's first day
  • Update locations for the new employee's first day

 

Just like new employees, internal employees who change teams, for example, should also go through a structured recruitment process. With a structured crossboarding programme, you enable employees to interact with their future team even before their first day at work. The standard and company-specific tasks from the onboarding programme are also used in the crossboarding programme. This ensures a smooth induction and makes it easier for employees to integrate into the new team.

 

With a structured offboarding programme, you as an employer can ensure a positive employee experience until the end of the employment relationship. SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding offers you a selection of standard tasks for managers and employees, which can be supplemented by customised tasks:

Frequently asked questions

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding can be integrated with an external human resources information system (HRIS) to efficiently capture and manage employee data from the onboarding process. This integration connects the external HRIS with a scaled-back version of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as a data record system. This integration does not require a separate licence for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.

Please note that this integration is limited to the onboarding of new hires only and does not provide support for offboarding or crossboarding (internal hiring processes).

The HR Campus best-practice onboarding solution involves the use of SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting and Employee Central.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding supports integration with an external applicant management system for a seamless onboarding process for new hires and rehires. This setup enables a smooth transition phase in which all relevant information can be seamlessly transferred from recruitment to onboarding, requiring a customised interface. 

The HR Campus best-practice onboarding solution involves the use of SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting and Employee Central.

If there is no interface to an external applicant management system with SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding, the onboarding process can be started manually from SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding. 

The module does not offer any functions for contract management. A third-party system, such as UKG Document Manager, can be used for this purpose.

Thanks to the integration of SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting with Onboarding, personal data that has already been recorded from the recruitment process is transferred directly to onboarding. New employees in the onboarding process thus experience a seamless process. The integration of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central also means that the additional employee data recorded during onboarding is transferred directly to the employee's profile. Your HR department in particular benefits from this data flow when processing employee data. With SAP SuccessFactors Learning, you enable new employees to access assigned courses before their start date, ensuring a smooth start. It is also possible to grant access to the course after an employee's first day working at the company.
