What issues are currently at the top of the HR agenda for Laura Convertini, Head of HR Digital Transformation at Groupe Mutuel? In our «10 Questions for…» series, she provides an insight into her priorities, challenges and outlook – and thus into the issues that really matter to HR.
1. HR credo: What is your personal HR credo in one sentence?
To create the conditions that enable every person to give their best, grow and make a meaningful contribution.
2. Culture in one sentence: If your culture were a dish, what would it be?
A fondue. It brings people together, and everyone contributes something unique. The quality of the result depends just as much on the ingredients as it does on how people sit together around the table.
3. Tool diet: Which tool would you do away with today to improve focus?
I wouldn’t necessarily get rid of a tool, but rather reduce duplication and complexity in day-to-day work. The simpler and more coherent the tools are, the more energy Teams can focus on what really matters.
4. AI in HR: Which AI-powered tool do you prefer to use – and why?
Copilot. It helps me save time on certain preparatory or analytical tasks. This means I can devote more time to engaging with the Teams, to reflect and support change.
5. HR with added value: Can you give a specific example where HR has made a measurable difference?
Behind every digitalisation initiative we implement in HR lies, above all, a human goal: to give employees and managers greater autonomy through self-service, to simplify their day-to-day work, and to enable HR teams to invest more time in supporting the teams.
6. A meaningful metric: Which single HR metric do you track every week – and why that one in particular?
I pay particular attention to the number of support enquiries relating to digital HR Services. Generally speaking, the fewer enquiries there are, the more likely it is that employees and managers are working autonomously, that the processes are running smoothly, and that the user experience genuinely meets their needs. For me, this is one of the best indicators of successful adoption.
7. HR Agenda 2026: Which topics are at the top of your HR agenda for 2026?
My 2026 agenda centres primarily on the user experience. How can we further simplify HR journeys through self-service? How can we give managers more autonomy? How can we use data and AI responsibly to better support HR departments? And above all: how do we continue to develop the skills needed in an increasingly fast-paced world?
8. HR revolution: If you could completely rethink HR, how would you change it?
I wouldn’t necessarily call it a revolution, but rather a process of continuous Development. I’d like to see an HR function that’s even more accessible and even more attuned to the needs of day-to-day working life – with intuitive Services that empower employees and managers whilst enabling HR teams to focus on providing human support, developing talent and supporting leadership.
9. Looking to the future: How will HR change over the next 10 years?
HR will rely more heavily on data and artificial intelligence to streamline processes and personalise Services. At the same time, I’m convinced that the human dimension will remain at the heart of the profession. The more Technology takes over certain tasks, the more listening, support and leadership will make the difference.
10. Recommendation: Which book, podcast or film has inspired you most recently?
Atomic Habits by James Clear. The book shows that sustainable transformation does not necessarily result from major changes, but often from a series of small, consistent and regular improvements. This approach is particularly well-suited to the challenges of corporate transformation.
