HR Campus is expanding its product range with SAP Fieldglass . The new solution provides a smart answer to the challenge of the modern and flexible labour market. By simplifying the management of external employees and services, SAP Fieldglass provides companies with transparency, cost savings and increased efficiency.

Fewer permanent positions, more working nomads

External workforces are becoming increasingly important in our society. According to a global study, 44 % of total workforce expenditure in companies is already attributable to external labour.1 In Switzerland, 25 % are already working on a project-based, temporary and additional basis. A further 25 % will do so in the near future.2

The trend towards more external employees is being driven by both employees and employers. Employees appreciate the flexibility and self-determination that new forms of work bring. New generations in particular have a strong opinion in this direction: 70% of Generation Z put their personal interests first.3 Employers are able to operate more flexibly on the market and secure certain skills on a temporary basis by using an external workforce. 65% of managers in companies see external employees as important or very important for achieving company goals.1

More externals, less transparency and compliance

On the corporate side, the growing importance of external workforces not only brings advantages, but also challenges. Few companies today know how many people actually contribute to the value creation of their products. In addition, it is often a black box as to who has access to company systems and buildings. In figures: 75% of the management level lacks information about external workforce.1 In few companies are the associated processes standardised and streamlined. SAP Fieldglass fills this gap as a vendor management system (VMS) that simplifies the procurement and management of external employees and services.
