SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals

The performance management tool is suitable for both SMEs and large international corporations. The system can be flexibly customised to different needs and allows different processes to be mapped.

It is possible to map different processes for different target groups (e.g. employees with and without a management function). It is important to note that the different target groups can be easily distinguished by means of a specific characteristic in order to reduce the administrative effort, for example when assigning appraisal forms.

Traditionally, there is a self-assessment by the employee and an external assessment by the line manager. In SAP SuccessFactors, however, it is also possible to obtain feedback and assessments from third parties (project employees/managers, co-managers, team colleagues, etc.) and incorporate them into the overall assessment.

It is possible to store so-called target libraries in the system, from which targets can be selected and adjusted if necessary. Using generative AI (artificial intelligence), it is also possible to generate goals very quickly using just a few keywords. Targets from previous years can also be copied. Managers have the option of creating team targets or cascading their own targets downwards.

The scale for the performance review is freely selectable. There is the option of circle or star ratings or a dropdown. SAP SuccessFactors generally recommends an odd rating scale. It is also possible to dispense with a rating altogether and only work with comment fields.

With a 360° feedback form, feedback and assessments can be obtained from team colleagues, superiors or external partners and compared with the self-assessment. This allows blind spots and hidden strengths of employees to be identified. If desired, feedback can be provided anonymously.

Continuous Performance Management can be used to flexibly plan and document interim meetings during the year or even weekly 1:1 meetings between managers and employees. It is also possible to initiate and record structured interim meetings using a specific form.

SAP SuccessFactors can be seamlessly integrated into MS Teams. If a due meeting form exists in the system, employees and managers receive reminders via Teams and can access SuccessFactors directly. Classic e-mail notifications are always possible.
