Unexpected short holiday in Paris

How a two-day business trip turned into a city break for Marek and Moritz.

With big plans and full of anticipation, HR Campus founder Marek Dutkiewicz and CEO Moritz Marti boarded the TGV train to Paris. SAP SuccessFactors was hosting the annual Partner Managed Cloud Summit there. "A milestone that made us extremely proud," says Moritz. This partnership enables HR Campus to implement SAP SuccessFactors faster, more resource-efficiently and in a more customer-centred way, as well as to take over support independently.

Painful sightseeing tour

The two of them suddenly found themselves in the heart of Paris in suits and smart shoes - with a lot of newly acquired free time. "We jumped on one of those hop-on hop-off buses and went to see the city," laughs Moritz. The only problem was that Marek's smart shoes caused blisters on his feet after just a short time of strolling through the streets of Paris. "So we went to the nearest shoe shop and he bought himself a pair of white Adidas trainers."

Surprise with a view

Expectations for the two-day event were high. "On the train journey, we realised that there wasn't even a timetable for the conference yet," recalls Moritz. Once they arrived in Paris, the two campus students made their way to the SAP headquarters. On the 34th floor - with a view of the Arc de Triomphe - they were disillusioned: "We were the only people in the room." It turned out that the summit was limited to a 45-minute discussion with SAP management.

Business success with a fashion statement

The next day was the big meeting with SAP. "The management wanted to know more about our work with their Software," says Moritz, summarising the meeting. "Fortunately, they were enthusiastic about HR Campus." The members of management were particularly amused by Marek's somewhat unexpected choice of shoes, as he couldn't bear to part with his white trainers.
