Our Christina recently celebrated her 12th anniversary at HR Campus and has been with the Umantis Team since the very beginning. In this interview, you can find out how she came to HR Campus after studying neuropsychology and what adventures she has had during this time.
Dear Christina, congratulations on your 12th anniversary! Why don't you tell us how you ended up here in the first place?
Thank you 😊 After studying neuropsychology, I completed a one-year internship at a psychiatric clinic, which coincidentally is now also a customer of HR Campus. However, I realised relatively quickly that this wasn't my thing. However, I've always enjoyed working with people and studied computer science as a minor. That's how I ended up looking for a job in HR and IT. I came across a job advert with the title "University graduate" and then applied for it. When I asked why the job was called that, Marek replied that he was looking for people who could work independently. That's how I ended up in the Umantis Team and I've been there ever since.
Have you never felt the desire for change? What do you see as your greatest success?
There has been plenty of change over the 12 years. I became a mum, the Software product continued to develop and customer requirements also changed. But perhaps I also simply appreciate security and stability and like being able to do something that I'm already good at. The positive feedback from my customers and the trust they place in me are probably my greatest successes. I work part-time and I'm pleased that my customers respect and understand this. Although they know that others in my Team can also help, they often wait for my next working day. Such customer trust is a great success for me.
Was there really no project or experience that you remember less favourably?
Yes, I do remember one project. I was involved in a reorganisation for a Customer and had to delete data from the old system. There was a lot of data. But I was convinced that I could do it in no time at all with a multi-action. Unfortunately, it was not yet technically possible to delete several data at once in the system and I had to remove each data record individually. That cost me two whole night shifts and I will never forget it. That's why my biggest learning is: don't promise too much - clarify things first!
You must have had some funny or crazy stories at HR Campus?
Absolutely. I was able to take part in lots of great excursions and trips. I particularly remember the three-day trip to Bordeaux, as well as the boat trip for the 20th anniversary and the HR Campus Openair with the band Hecht.
But I also have a crazy story to tell. During a ski weekend, after a few glasses of beer, the idea of going to Las Vegas together came up. You often have ideas like that, but forget about them when you're sober. Marek stuck with it, however, and we actually travelled to Las Vegas together. That was pretty crazy. We coordinated our holidays and met up for four days in Las Vegas in the summer. All on a private basis, of course. It's not often you hear that Team and work colleagues enjoy being together so much that they even spend their holidays together. I think that's super nice. I'm looking forward to many more casual experiences.
