This year's HR Experience Campus was all about artificial intelligence and the question of how technology and humanity harmonise in HR. With around 600 participants, inspiring keynotes and practical sessions, the day was a complete success! Let's dive back into the unforgettable day.
After last year's successful 25th anniversary, the next round was already underway: the HR Experience Campus 2024 brought together 600 HR experts, partners and customers to discuss the latest trends and developments in HR. This time, the focus was on artificial intelligence (AI) - and in a fascinating way that allowed for critical questions as well as presenting solutions. From inspiring keynotes and practical breakout sessions to interactive discussions, the day offered a wealth of new insights and exciting encounters.
Nobody could have imagined how Moritz Marti, CEO of HR Campus, would take to the stage. He welcomed the participants with his own avatar hologram and gave an insight into the "other dimension" of the AI world, setting the mood for the day.

AI in HR: aid or obstacle?
Dr Daniel Mühlbauer, an expert in HR IT solutions and founder of the blog "HR-Datenliebe" (HR data love), gave a keynote speech in which he shed light on how artificial intelligence can transform HR if the data basis is right. From smart interview bots and VR assistants to personalised career paths - the potential applications are diverse and promising. However, in addition to the opportunities, he also emphasised that Technology cannot replace the human factor in HR and that we can even optimise it. It is important to consciously decide where "human to human" should continue to exist and where the potential of AI should be utilised in a targeted manner.
Gina Brucker, CHRO of Swiss Casinos, also picked up on this idea and emphasised that digital change cannot be achieved through technical solutions alone. "It's like football - the best technology is useless without a strong team!" She used practical examples to illustrate how important it is to actively involve employees in the digital transformation. She showed how Swiss Casinos is shaping digitalisation through a collaborative corporate culture. This digitalisation is more than just Technology; it is a cultural change that can only work with people.
In the panel discussion that followed, moderated by Anna Maier, Gina Brucker, Dr Daniel Mühlbauer and Esmir Davorovic, HR Strategy Consultant at HR Campus, took an in-depth look at the challenges and opportunities of AI in HR. It quickly became clear that the acceptance of AI depends heavily on the respective corporate culture. Esmir put it in a nutshell: "AI is a journey that starts with each individual." He emphasised that Technology is just a tool - the crucial question remains how we use it in our companies in a meaningful and human way.
Breakout sessions: New ideas and pure inspiration
The 10 breakout sessions offered deep insights into the future of HR in line with the day's theme. From "Modern HR for SME - complete and simple" to "Talent Management with AI: Technology vs. culture?"; participants were given an insight into practical solutions, thought-provoking ideas and the opportunity to engage intensively with current developments.
As in previous years, the start-up pitch session "HR solutions of the future" was an absolute crowd-puller. In an exciting competition, creative minds presented their innovative ideas, including Ranjit de Sousa from getFound (Recruitment), Michael Claussner from PitchYou (Recruitment), Nadia Fischer from Witty Works (Diversity), Raphael Tobler from eduwo (Learning) and Stephane Alberth from Aixa AG (Learning). With over 170 participants, the start-up pitch was the most popular breakout session of the day.
In the end, Raphael Tobler won the day with his presentation for eduwo, a platform solution for the continuing education market. Thanks to the votes of the audience, Raphael Tobler was allowed to take to the big stage again later in the afternoon and present his vision to the assembled plenum. A well-deserved moment!
"Why people matter in an AI world"
The day ended with an impressive keynote speech by philosopher Dr Rebekka Reinhard, who emphasised that people must be at the centre of the digital transformation. She reminded us that it is not about pitting man and machine against each other, but about growing together and utilising our own strengths. AI is like a mirror: it allows us to recognise our own strengths and weaknesses. Her five takeaways will be remembered: scrutinise, question, think for yourself, show attitude and have the courage to be human!
The successful conclusion to an intensive but also humorous day was the aperitif, where all participants were able to exchange ideas once again in a relaxed atmosphere. We all went home inspired and full of zest for action with many exciting conversations and new contacts. One thing is clear: the future of HR is digital, but it remains human.
Many thanks to all participants and Campus members for making the HR Experience Campus what it is. We are already looking forward to welcoming you back to Trafo Baden next year.
