Education is the key to a better future. And that is precisely why HR Campus has been supporting the Safisha Africa Welfare Foundation and its school projects in Nairobi, Kenya, for several years. This support has enabled the school to be built and now ensures its daily operations - so that children from difficult backgrounds can learn, laugh and grow.
Learning with heart and hope
Safisha Africa School is located in the slum area in the east of the Kenyan capital Nairobi and offers a complete school education to around 350 children from kindergarten to eighth grade. Professional teachers, all of whom are Kenyan, teach the pupils and guide them through everyday life. In addition to lessons, the children receive breakfast and a warm lunch every day. For many, this is a crucial part of their well-being.
In Kenya, families often have to pay for their children's books, exercise books and school uniforms themselves. Many families cannot afford this. The Safisha Africa School counteracts this inequality: children who would otherwise have little access to education are included in the support and care programme and receive individual support. In this way, the project not only creates learning spaces, but also opportunities for the future with stable framework conditions, personalised care and a sense of community.
